Lae de Haut overlooks the village of Aramits and offers a remarkable view of the Pyrenees over the Valley of Baretous and the ski station of La Pierre Ste Martin in the back ground. No traffic noise as there is only one house beyond us on our lane.
Cyclist & Motorcyclist enjoy the challenge of conquering famous TDF Cols of the past such as Aubisque, Marie Blanque, La Pierre Ste Martin, Soulor and Tourmalet.
Lae de Haut is only 15 miles from Spain so can discover to countries, our suggested routes take you over the Pyrenees into Spain, returns you via another mountain pass and valley so you do not repeat the views so you can enjoy Tapas in Spain and Menu of the day in France.
Motorcycle touring holidays 2020
At Lae de Haut we find that May, June, September and October are the most popular each year for motorcyclist as they want traffic free roads without the crowds and these months do that in the Pyrenees.
Over 90% guest for 2019 are bikers, if you are like me I was planning next years trip as soon as I returned home after the last trip.
As we are only 15 miles from Spain our Pyrenees routes take you into Spain so you see both sides of the Pyrenees plus 2 cultures.
1st Ride out
Takes you over 3 Tour de France Cols, Marie Blanque, Aubisque and the Soulor
Through the historic spar town of Eaux Bonnes, ski station of Gourette, beautiful Ossau valley with breath taking views all the way.
Circular route 100 miles
2nd Ride out.
Journey up to the ski station of La Pierre St Martin, riding along the ridge of the mountain looking down to the left into the Roncal valley in Spain and to the right France towards Pau, dropping down into the Roncal valley following the river through gorges and beautiful restored Spanish villages with BBQ areas built along side of the river. At the end of the valley we take directions to Jaca, here is many restaurants and Tapas Bars. (Jaca has history, Google it) Take directions to France taking the slip road the famous Canfranc Station, this is worth asking google about the station before you go. Over the top of the Col Somport passing two ski stations then back into the Aspe Valley.
We visit the Aspe Valley on a regular basis using the villages restaurants.

3rd Ride out
Back to the Ossau valley via Buzy, Arudy and Laruns
This time we follow the valley all the way to Portalet on the boarder to Spain, here we stop for a meal before we visit the shops for cheap booze.
On the way up to Portalet we pass Artouste, this is worth another day out, you catch the ski lift to the restaurant at the top and here you catch the Petite Train and this is a must, 20 minutes train journey to the reservoir at the top.
To Portalet and back 100 miles.
We have many suggested rides out on some of the best motorcycling roads (Maintained well as they are used by the Tour de France on a regular basis) shorter or longer also we can suggest where to eat on these rides out.
